- Mak-a-Din
- Mak-a-Din are Dougie and Gordon, two lads from Falkirk. They're great musicians, and also great entertainers. They've been kind enough to let me sit in with them now and then, and I can't remember the last time I had so much fun playing music. Think Gaberlunzie, but wacky!
- The Quaich Coffee Shop, Aberfeldy
- This is one of my favorite spots in town--a great place to indulge my vanilla latte addiction! Their web site has tons of great information about Aberfeldy and Highland Perthshire, too.
- Pete Loud's Northumbrian Fiddle Tune Book
- My good friend Pete lives in Milton Keynes, just a bit north of London. How do I describe Pete??? Let's just say he's an intriguing combination of Free Spirit and Renaissance Man. This site is where you'll find his book of Northumbrian Fiddle Tunes- certainly the most complete collection I know of. Once you're there, check out his concertina site and his amazing photos, too.
- FolkWorks
- A wonderful organization that promotes traditional, folk and world music in southern California. They publish an online magazine that's one of the best and most comprehensive in the US. I'm proud to be an occasional contributor to the magazine as well as a member of the Advisory Board.
- Men of Worth
- Men of Worth are Donnie Macdonald, from Scotland, and Jimmy Keigher, from Ireland. Their music is brilliant, and their live concerts are... well... they defy description. If you're thinking of visiting Ireland or Scotland, check out their vacation tours.
- Moon Guitars
- Jimmy Moon is a gifted instrument maker based in Glasgow. He made my bouzouki, and with luck I'll have one of his custom-made guitars one day, too.
- DBW Productions
- The studio where I recorded my album "Where the Heart Is." Engineer David Chamberlin is an incredible guitarist, has a great ear for the sound of trad music, and is really fun to work with.
- Christopher Dean
- Chris is a talented fingerstyle guitarist. His playing is wonderful and his shows are always entertaining. One of my favorite people to share a stage with.
